Bestselling Author Michelle Stimpson

I attended an online e-book marketing class on Monday, April 28th taught by Christian Fiction and non-fiction, Author Michelle Stimpson. The class was roughly two hours long so you know there was a lot of information involved. I am very grateful that she is a gifted communicator. She was able to disseminate the information in such a way that we were able to follow and duplicate ourselves.

I just want to share a couple of highlights with you. If you want more...you will have to take her class and if you are still writing your manuscript you may want to get 'The 21-Day Book Publishing Plan'.

Rule #1 Write Books. You Can't Market What You Don't Have. It seems fairly simple, but let's be real. We would all like to make a million off of our first book. You can, but you may have to write book 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 to make it happen. Your market plan, should you choose to be successful, needs to revolve around product. I wouldn't go into a store that only sold one item and I doubt it would stay in business long. So why would I expect people just to take me on my 'one-book-word'? Outside of my family and friends who see my writing as 'Anointed' they don't know me.

Rule #2 Keep an Eye On Your Books. How will you know what platform (Kindle, Nook, Smashwords, IPad) is working best for you if you don’t follow you book sales? Also how will you know which marketing strategies, i.e. blog posts, press releases, interviews, sales or giveaways work if you don’t take inventory.

Rule #3 If You Are Going to Self-Publish Do some Research Yourself. There are companies that are willing to take your dollar to do a host of things for you, but the more you know about your business, because at this point it is no longer a hobby you rather not get money for, the more you will be able to call the shots.

Have fun with it. Do some research online, take some free classes, buy a couple of books hosting great testimonials including Michael Hyatt’s ‘Platform’.

Side-note: Though I have been raving about the information I got from her class I don’t want to end without giving some of her books a shout out. Michelle Stimpson’s ‘What About’ series including ‘What About Momma’s House’, ‘What About Love’ and ‘What About Tomorrow’ are excellent reads with clever dialogue and storylines that pull you into the story from page one. It’s nice to finish a book that allows you to feel like you gained knowledge especially when it’s the characters that give it to you.

Don't just take my word for it, check out all of her books at http://michellestimpson.com/novels/
